VA Salt Lake City Health Care System

Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom

American Soldier with U.S. Flag
The VA Salt Lake City Health Care System is grateful to the men and women who have served their country in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Veterans, including activated Reservists and members of the National Guard, are eligible for VA care if they served on active duty in a theater of combat operations after November 11, 1998, and have been discharged under other than dishonorable conditions.  As a combat veteran you are eligible for cost-free care and medications provided for conditions potentially related to combat service.  This health care is provided regardless of your income or eligibility status.  Note: To be eligible for dental care, your DD-214 must be annotated that you did not receive your final dental care while on active duty.  You have 180 days from your discharge date to enroll in the VA Healthcare System to receive dental care.

Note: Free care refers to all services related to the veteran's military experience.  Co-payments may be charged for the treatment of non-combat related conditions.
