Chaplain

Emergency Care

The VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City has an Emergency Department that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Read more about our emergency care services.

Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC)

GRECC is the cornerstone of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) strategy to focus attention on the aging veteran population, to increase the basic knowledge of aging, to transmit that knowledge to health care providers, and to improve the quality of care to the aged. Geriatrics

Geriatric services include Geriatric Primary and Specialty Care, Home Based Primary Care, Geropsychiatry, Community Nursing Home Care, and Community Nursing Services.

Imaging

Radiology is located directly in front of the building 1 elevators A and B on the first floor. Orders are electronic and should be entered by your health care provider before you reach Diagnostic Medicine. Imaging services include:

  • X-ray

  • MRI Scans
  • Ultrasound
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Interventional Radiology

Laboratory and Pathology

The laboratory is located in building 14. Enter at the main entrance, go to the first floor and follow the blue line, The laboratory hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Patients are served on a first-come, first-served basis. You must sign in for the particular area in which you are testing. To obtain results of diagnostic tests, contact the ordering health care provider.
