VA Salt Lake City Health Care System’s Fisher House will be a 16,800 square foot home consisting of 20 suites, each with a private bedroom and bath. This Fisher House fulfills a critical need in a vast geographical area that is highly rural. Veterans and their families will also enjoy a spectacular view of the Wasatch Mountains while they heal in a home like environment.
There is no cost for families to stay in a Fisher House. Since inception (1990), the
program has served more than 142,000 families and saved them an estimated $165
million in lodging and transportation, with over 3.5 million lodging days offered.
Additionally, the Foundation ensures that families of service men and women wounded in
Iraq or Afghanistan are not burdened with unnecessary expense during a time of crisis.
