Individuals appointed to the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System, both paid and non-paid, must be compliant with mandatory training required by the Joint Commission, the Occupational Safety Health Administration and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Individuals appointed to the VA on WOC appointments are required to complete the training module “Providing a Safe and Secure Environment for Health Care”.
The course “Providing a Safe and Secure Environment for Health Care” will take approximately 45 minutes to one hour to complete. It is recommended that you view the course content from your computer rather than print the document, as it is several pages in length. However, it can be printed for those who may have difficulty viewing it on the computer.

Note: You can access this training website from your home computer. However, you cannot gain access using an "Apple Macintosh", or the web browser "Mozilla Firefox", or Netscape. You will need to complete the training using a Microsoft-based PC, and the web browser Internet Explorer. The computer MUST be connected to a printer. You may choose to use a VA computer. Computers in the VA library are available for your use between 7AM - 6PM Monday through Friday. Failure to take the required mandatory training will result in the granting or suspension of your computer access.
